The aim of a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) is to contribute to the scientific objectives of COST Action Nano-IBCT.
These Missions (Exchange Visits) are aimed at strengthening the existing networks by allowing scientists to go to an institution or laboratory in another COST country to foster collaboration, to learn a new technique or to make measurements using instruments and/or methods not available in their own institution/laboratory. It is particularly focused on young scientists and scholars to be to take advantage from this scheme.
Each STSM mission should last between 5 days as a minimum and not more than three months. For Early Stage Researchers (less than PhD+8 years) the MC may approve an extension to a duration beyond 3 months, but not more than 6 months in total.
The maximum amount of funds for one STSM is limited by 2500 Euro (or 3500 Euro for ESR- above 3 months).
The support is a contribution to the costs of a mission and may not necessarily cover all the costs in each case.
The initial consideration and approval of STSM applications will be performed by WG Chairs. The final approval of the STSM applications will be done by the STPC Committee. Application for STSM could be submitted any time.
The Applicant is responsible for obtaining the agreement of the host institution, before submitting his/her application.
