MBN Research Center team members participated in the First general meeting of the COST Action CA17126 "Towards understanding and modelling intense electronic excitation" (TUMIEE). The meeting took place at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Madrid, Spain) on November 19-20, 2018.
During this meeting, a number of "case studies" of interest were presented and discussed, which are related to modeling of spatiotemporal multiscale problems driven by the electronic excitation phenomena and linked to applications in science, industry, technology and medicine. Dr. Pablo de Vera, Dr. Alexey Verkhovtsev and Professor Andrey Solov'yov presented several case studies devoted to (i) multiscale modelling of complex molecular systems for modern technologies with MBN Explorer, (ii) modeling of inelastic collision processes in the course of propagation of charged particles in media, (iii) modeling of collision-induced processes with complex molecular systems, and (iv) radiation chemistry resulting from electronic excitations induced by radiation beams.
Apart from the general TUMIEE meeting, a Management Committee meeting took place on November 20. Professor Andrey Solov'yov participated in the meeting as a leader of Working Group 5 "Training, outreach, dissemination and technology transfer".
